The Royal Arsenal Association
The Royal Arsenal Association was founded under the title of the Royal Arsenal Woolwich Association in 1982 under the guidance of David Brighton. David invited Cliff Blake and Ian Reuben to establish the details and it ran under this regime until 2007 when it was mooted that it should be disbanded. A rebellious group of younger members suggested that the Association should continue.
The name was changed to the Royal Arsenal Association, and under the guidance of David Brighton and Ian Reuben the ‘young’ committee has continued the traditions of the original association.
The main objectives of the Association are to: foster and recall the history of Woolwich Arsenal in co-operation with the Royal Arsenal Woolwich Historical Society, provide opportunities for meeting and recreation for past employees of the Royal Arsenal, provide a means of communication between past employees of the Royal Arsenal.
Full Membership of the Organisation is open to any person, who has worked at, or has had been associated with, the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, London SE18, or any of its outstations/satellites and Honorary Membership is open to spouses, widows and widowers of Full Members.
Fees for membership are modest! Currently £1p.a.
We would welcome new members.
